The online version of the Two Day courses delivers the same evidence-based learning outcomes of the popular ‘face-to-face’ Adult and Youth MHFA Two Day courses in an accessible and flexible online format. The Online MHFA course is a practical skills and awareness course designed to equip learners with the skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues, and the confidence to reassure and support a person in distress. It will help you learn how to provide support and signposting to professional services and self-help to further support their recovery.
The dates below are for the 'live instructor-led online sessions that make up the main body of the online course. You need to attend all 4 live sessions. You can find more information on the course structure below.

The course is structured around a blend of individual learning and live instructor-led sessions. These are all conducted online via the new Online Learning Hub developed by MHFA England. The online learning hub is an integrated learning platform where you can access learning materials, communicate with your instructor and join the live sessions.
The total learning time for the Online Mental Health First Aid course is the same as the MHFA Two Day face-to-face course. The course is made up of four instructor-led live sessions of approximately 2.5 hours. Prior to each of these sessions there are pre-learning activities for you to complete, which will take between 1-2 hours. The pre-learning material is comprised of reading, videos and activities for you to engage with and this information is then discussed and consolidated within the live sessions.
The open courses run by Responder MHFA are varied in their structure to offer flexibility for you to fit it around your schedule: some run on 4 consecutive mornings, some courses run across two days with sessions in the morning and afternoon, and some run across two weeks (2 live sessions each week). So look carefully at the dates and times below and see what works best for you.
However, if you would like to run your own private course for your organisation, then you can arrange the live sessions in any way that suits your requirements; although it is suggested that all four live sessions are completed within a two-week period so that there is continuity and learning is maximised.
Once you have completed your booking form and paid for your place on the course, MHFA England will post a hard copy of your learning materials out to you. This includes:
You will also receive a hard copy of your Mental Health First Aider certificate upon completion of the course.
Please note that if you sign up to the course at the last minute you will receive a digital version of the Manual and Workbook so that you can complete the live sessions. You will then receive a hard copy within a few days.
The Online MHFA course is priced the same as the face-to-face Adult/YouthTwo Day course as it results in the same qualification and covers the same content. The cost of the Online courses are £235 per person.
Have a look at the course dates below and then once you have decided on the dates that work best for you, click on the link below, which will take you to a booking form. Complete the booking form and then make your payment (all details are on the form). Once both the form and payment have been received, your place will be confirmed and joining instructions sent out so that you can access the online learning materials.
